At Cuirs Desrochers, each piece tells a story – that of a noble material, artisanal know-how and a passion passed down from generation to generation, in the heart of Plessisville.
The Roots (1981-1997): A Pioneering Vision. The adventure began in 1981 when Denis Desrochers, then a shoe salesman, had a bold idea. He bought surplus leather and started making promotional items. What began as a spontaneous initiative quickly transformed into a thriving business. Denis acquired a location in Plessisville and, thread by thread, built a network of loyal customers, gradually expanding his offerings from raw leather sales to custom manufacturing. Desrochers Leathers took root, guided by quality and innovation.
Growth (1997-2024): The Legacy Continues. In 1997, a new chapter began. Nancy Desrochers and Dominique Chagnon took the reins, injecting new dynamism. The company expanded, diversified its product lines, and invested in a state-of-the-art arsenal of machinery: cutting presses, belt cutters, sewing machines, and more. With over 10,000 square feet of stock, Cuirs Desrochers established itself as a leader, capable of meeting all requirements with expertise and speed. The tradition of excellence was maintained, and the reputation for quality was strengthened.
The New Chapter (February 2024): Precision, Creation, and the Future. February 2024 marks a turning point. Audrey Alberca and Atef Ouechtati, a couple searching for an exciting project, discover the captivating world of leather. Immediately won over by the nobility and potential of this material, they envision their future and decide to take over the reins of Cuirs Desrochers.
- Audrey, with over 15 years of experience in optometry, brings unparalleled precision and an expert eye for detail. Her strong passion for design and craftsmanship flourishes in the workshop, guaranteeing the finesse and excellence of each piece.
- Atef, with a successful career in sales, takes charge of the commercial and management aspects, ensuring that the legacy of Cuirs Desrochers reaches new horizons.
Together, Audrey and Atef are committed to preserving the pillars of Cuirs Desrochers: product excellence, impeccable customer service, and a reputation for quality craftsmanship. Their goal? To develop new business sectors and expand the product range, while honoring the company's rich history.
